Child and Youth Development

Military children and youth are very resilient and to help them grow even stronger, the Child and Youth Program have many opportunities for military youth. These opportunities include regional youth events, Month of the Military Child events, family day champs, and military youth workshops.

The Oregon Military Teen Panel (ORMTP) is a leadership opportunity for military teens (9-12th grades) from all branches of service to come together and represent the military youth in the state of Oregon.  Find out more on the Teen Panel visit their Facebook page www.facebook.com/oregonmilitaryteenpanel.

Unit Support

The Child and Youth Program staff can provide age-appropriate activities, resources, and referrals to help support military children and youth before, during, and after deployment.  We work closely with Family Readiness Groups, Family Assistance Specialists, Family Readiness Support Assistants, and Airmen & Family Readiness Program Managers to support events.

Community Outreach

The Child and Youth Program provide free trainings to community organizations and educational instructions working with military children and youth.  Trainings are tailored to individual requests but most commonly cover the deployment cycle, reintegration and reunion, resilience in military youth, and resources to support military youth.

Community organizations and educational instructions may request trainings by contacting Child and Youth Program staff.
